The wiki does mention it. http://stardewvalleywiki.com/Bundles#Pantry
Look at the 2nd column in each bundle section. The number of gold squares is the required number of items needed for that bundle. That's pretty much what they look like in-game. Your options to fill the squares required by the bundle are in the 3rd column. Sometimes those columns are equal in number, sometimes not.
In both of my games I haven't gotten to level 80 until winter year 1. I usually have my tools upgraded to steel by then, which helps a lot with watering. I skip the tier 1 sprinklers and rely on hand watering the first year, hitting the mines when it rains. It's not until year 2 that I start using sprinklers (quality) at all.
I don't use the traveling merchant often. Her stuff is usually wildly overpriced. I do invest in rare seeds though (at least the first 2 years) and will grab the more difficult fish for the bundles. I don't think she's a very reliable option though.
And ye, i started fishing now, too. Maybe i will get that weapon. Would be nice :D
