Alex, Strange Dialogue?

I'm married to him with 12 hearts, and am currently in Fall of year 2. Just spoke to him in the morning and he said nothing more than "..." and then followed by "Don't you ever feel trapped?"

I haven't played the game for awhile, so I'm not sure if this is new and he's unhappy or something but honestly I can't help but feel concerned about what he's saying.


Any sort of explanation or debunk would be great haha.

Does he mean it literally? Like, is your house FULL of furniture to the point he can barely move? They do complain if there's too much stuff in the house.

Otherwise, maybe he's just having a bad day.

I don't believe so? I restarted my game to get a screenshot so you can kind of see my house. It's just worrying to me, especially with divorcing in the game now. So maybe he's sad and wanted to divorce haha.

Okay, yeah, it's definitely not the furniture then. I've never married Alex on any of my playthroughs, so I'm not sure if this is normal behavior. It might just go away in a day or two. Maybe it has to do with him being sad he'll never go pro, or something? Even if he did want a divorce, that doesn't seem like something he'd say to someone he hates...

I had a similar thing happen with Leah. She only said "..." and didn't get out of bed the whole day. I think it just is when they are upset about something sometimes.

I've gotten that conversation line from him too. Just once though in 3 or 4 years of being married to him in-game. I think he was at 13/12 hearts too, which confused me.

In my first game I married Sam and some days he wouldn't get out of bed.

I think it's just something they say occasionally.

This is only that one screenshot, I had reloaded my game afterwards to get that shot. The last time he said it he was in another room, so I don't think that's likely.

I think it's just something. Been married to him a week, he's at full hearts and last night he asked me if we should have a baby (so, I mean, clearly he's not unhappy) then I get up the next day, it's raining, and he heads upstairs and just stares at the wall until I speak to him and the script happens. I was highly confused, but I gave him a complete breakfast and he was back to normal the next day. I dunno. I came on here to see if anyone else had gotten it. It’s just so out of character for him. I figured he just got melancholy in the rain.

Sadly it wasn't raining in my game, it was just a windy day (I believe that's what that icon means).

Still good to know I'm not the only one haha.

I think they get pissed at you when you gift other singles something. And they ask you if you feel trapped because they think you are interessted in another single villager.
