They will die in the winter like other crops. However, if you plant them in the greenhouse they'll live forever (as will similar crops like strawberries, cranberries, etc.).

Later on (Level 7? 9? Farming) you can get a seed maker that lets you put in fruit and get out 1-3 seeds. So you can get ancient seeds from that, and either plant them in the greenhouse, or on your farm in spring.
