why is it so hard to get all artifacts?
I find it kind of rediculous that its almost impossible to get all artifacts. Why is fishing so important - its the most anoying thing in this game! I am just playing for the recipes, the artifacts and my dinosaur. And it really sickens me. I am producing hundrets of mangnets and treasure hunters - i consume all my money i earn from my hard work for what? For not finding what i need - ever. I wait for good luck, fish the whole day for nothing. I really like that game and wanted to write a nice review but i will not cause i cant finish the game.

it is ment as a long term goal. not a 1 year complete goal. makes you go explore for digging holes and be lucky with fishing sometimes -what i find is luck also increases treasure chest in fishing-

find out more the daily routine of characters hidden cutscenes hidden boxes with strange interactions and such.
i see the museum more as a side thing like the mini games in te saloon. fun but it will come when you want it.

You don't need to fish to get artifacts. You can get 100% artifacts from digging. I am 100% museum and have never used a treasure lure nor magnet bait.

This is the trick to digging for them:
1) Wake up (with Tracker preferably), go to the areas where you still need spawns - use warp totems/speed food to move faster. Dig everything. Remember which spots have artifacts you need (if any).
2) Close the game to wake up again. Go dig up any artifacts if you found them in step 1. Do whatever you need to that day. Sleep.
3) Repeat step 1; some worms may despawn, but most won't, so you can dig them up again. The spots are seeded daily so you can't repeat dig on the same day, but you can on different days.
4) Once or twice a week ride around on your horse and forage so there is less clutter in figuring out which Tracker arrows are legit.

Winter in particular is key since you have massive worm spawns. I remember there was a 3 day stretch where I got 10 artifacts just from the forest alone. You will probably find artifacts every day in winter if you are willing to ride around in all the areas. Use the wiki to find out where you need to dig to get what. Forest/mountain spawns will probably be the hardest to get.

Thank you for your quick answer! I am playing this for 4 years now. I am in friend will all villagers. I ve fished all the fishes. I grew all crops and have alot of them already. I have a great stock of seeds. All i am missing is some recipes and some artifacts that wont show up. So its just anoying to do that all days of the month.

I didnt know i dont have to fish to get all - thanks! The problem is there are not many wormtiles and all i get out of it is mud, mixed seeds and artifacts that i already have. I will try that re-digging you suggested! I am not really sure what you mean with tracker. Some regions do have more tiles that can be digged. Forest for example only has a few around the pond. I will try your method for a while as long as i really cant do it anymore - thanks alot!

Tracker is a forage profession chosen at skill level 10 of the foraging skill, assuming you took Gatherer at level 5. The tracker profession puts small arrows on the edges of the screen indicating foragable items and dig spots which are off screen of the map you are currently on. They help you find forage items and dig spots.

Yeah, I have only 2 artifacts--the hand and the scapula--and have been dig-dig-digging away and absolutely no luck. On the other hand, I have probably ALL the mixed seeds and clay anyone could ever need or want. I'm in yr 5 of this playthru and it's really the only thing besides getting the 10milG clock from the wizard that I have left to do. And I'm less that 1/2milG away from getting the clock. The last two artifacts are driving me a little batty. I listen to my backlog of audiobooks while I hunt because going over the same parts of the map and digging up more mixed seeds and more clay, day after day, season after season, is really tedious and listening to an audiobook makes it feel less futile and dumb. I wouldn't care except I'm so close to getting 2 achievements, since I only need the stardrop from Gunther for collecting the museum colelction now to get the stardrop achievement too.

It's possible to find artifacts in the mines. Use your hoe, the more improved, the better, to dig up the sand areas.

Not all artifacts can be found in all places. Some NEED FISHING, for some you NEED TO DIG UP THE WORMS. I made a guide that should still mostly work, except that there are now extra places to find the same artifacts (because worms can spawn on the farm now).

Funny thting is that completting the collection should be doable by the time the player is being scored by Gramdpa (since it counts) which is less probable than winning a lottery irl.

Maybe. But that had more of an impact back when gramps was way more of a hard-ass (which I prefered) when the game came out. Now that he has calmed down, it is just more of score progression. So the pressure to complete it is not really there anymore. Which isn't so bad when playing casually.

Good luck on finding the artifscts, OP. My best advice is to just keep at it. I was in the same boat for a few game years. Constantly grinding and searching for artifacts. But I kept at it and eventually I found them all. Dont give up! I believe in you all!
