Upgrading hoe = removing grass?
I have a riverland farm and there's a patch of grass to the side of my house and I'm wondering if I can remove that patch of grass for more farm land if I upgrade my hoe or nah?

The permanent grass cannot be removed (as far as I know). You can plant trees there though, including Fruit trees.

Upgrading the hoe allows you to till more soil with a single action: http://stardewvalleywiki.com/Hoe

The starting hoe does one tile.
The copper hoe does three.
The steel hoe does five.
The gold hoe does 3x3.
The Iridium hoe does 6x3.

No you can't remove the grass tiles, kind of a shame.

However with an upgraded axe you can remove those bushes on that grass if you want more room to place a building/buildings there so you can free up a little bit of farm space from buildings.
