catching an octopus

I am fishing in the summer in the mornings at the ocean, near willy's shop but i am not getting any octopus... 10 fishing +3fishing food...

Any tips?

Assuming you have the best rod and bait, there's not much more you can do than hope to get lucky.

I have been fishing for 4 days, every morning, from 6am to 1pm, using teleport to beach to get there ASAP... and catching everything, not a single octopus in sight.

Could they have changed the spawn place or time for it?

If anyone of you catched an octopus recently i would like to know when and where it was!

Got it on the 12th day.

Not sure why it is so rare. The only things i did differently this day is change of position (west of the beach), and i fished on the beach itself on shallow water not from the wooden plateform. Also it was the only day i hadn't used any +fishing food.

Considering there are a few fish that require a more specific spot to catch, I wonder if octopus is in a similar position. I should test if I remember.

EVERY day check all of the trash cans you can see in Pelican Town. I found an octopus in George and Evelyn's trash can.

Honestly, it took me all of winter to find a Squid for Willy's quest. Just be patient and keep trying when you can. Get used to the varying fish patterns in the minigae, and when a different one pops up, you can hope to get lucky. :)
