Change buying prices?
So I am having a little crisis in stardew valley that I bet many other people have had. I have no wood....I'll wait for you to stop giggling.
So I am playing a new game since they updated it to 1.1 and I decided to choose the River Island farm layout. The problem is, there are barely any trees. Now I know I could just wait a month to grow but I don't want to wait a year before they grow. Now I know you can buy stones and wood from Robin. But I find it really stupid that it's 10g a piece, I want to lower this to maybe 5g. So does anyone know how to change in-game prices?

I'm on a Riverland farm and it's overflowing with trees. Can't stop tripping over the damn saplings.

Have you been to Cindersap forest and cut those trees down yet?

Fir trees take only 4 days to grow from nothing and the others 5-7 days. Just keep chopping them and your wood stocks will soon start mounting up. You can also grow some on your farm if you're that desperate.

Yea I've been there a couple times, my main goal is to have a ton of wood but not make the whole map barren of trees
I went through the starting trees fast.

Dedicate a small plot of your farm to growing trees and chopping them down/replanting as they grow in, or just slap a tree seed in any area that has a single spots' gap. Managed responsibly your wood stockpile should steadily grow.

Then again, that's not what you're looking for with this thread- you can change the shop prices if you tinker with the games files, just like anything else. It should be as simple as finding the shops file and just changing the number value assigned to woods' price. I haven't done so myself, though, so I can only point you towards the modding community or some youtube tutorials on how to access those files.

I never run out of wood. And i've done almost everything i need that required wood. They grow very fast, you can chop down a few and plant more

10g a piece is a lot? Then you're still not at stage when you have a million and have nothing to do with it?
Well, then go to forest (below farm), backwood (above farm), mountain (above town or past backwood) and railroad (above mountain) and cut all trees there. They will regrow in month if you leave no stump. If even that isn't enough, go to desert and cut all palms there. Again, leave no stump and they'll regrow.

*looks at about 100 uncut trees on farm* I won't have that problem for a while. And after that 'while' I'll have so much money that I'll have nothing to do with it anyway....

I did the math, for the first house upgrade I need 450 wood, I already have 173, so I need 277. 10g a piece, about 2,770g. Which is quite a lot for me. I just made it into the 10,000g range.

Just expand farm. You'll make enough money in no time. 2,770g is less than you can get even from fishing for a day. You don't need to upgrade house until you get quite a lot of recipes (TV program+relationships) anyway.

This is a fair problem on the river farm, since there's the issue of wood falling into the water. Not nearly as big an issue on the other farms.

I recommend planting a TON of tree seeds at the train station. You should be able to fit around 80, I'd imagine.

Ok, I got enough wood for the house upgrade, plus now that fall has rolled around most trees are adults now.
