+3 fishing, useful if you have max fishing already?
Just wondering, can you go past the maximum level?

I am trying to fish the legendary fishes right now, and they are very difficult, almost impossible. My fishing level is 9. I am wondering if i need to hit level 10 before trying them again, or if simply eating food will be enough.

Can we go past the maximum? if i am level 10 and eat a +3, would i be level 13 (making fishing a lot easier) or is there a maximum?

I believe that you can indeed "go past maximum". Or, so one of the books in the library would lead me to believe.

Yes, it's useful. Yes, it makes catching fishes even easier. Catching Legend with 10 fishing was a hell, with 13 fishing was a breeze.

I recommend using trap bobber tackle

the trap bobber is actually pretty useless compared to I believe it's the cork bobber? the cork bobber extends your fishing bar just a bit and when combined with +3 food, can almost extend the bar to 3/4ths of the catching screen a decent bit so catching the fish would literally be impossible to fail up to that point, really

3/4th is impossible to achieve. It's a bit less than half of bar (I'd say about 40%) which is awesome, yes, but still not 3/4.

is it? well...still almost impossible to lose the fish at that point anyways

Fishing bar is divided into 6 almost equal segments by its frame.
Catching bar at fishing at lvl 0 is about half a segment (~9% of whole bar)
Catching bar at fishing at lvl 10 is a little less than two segments (~30%)
Cork tackle gives about +30% of bar at lvl 0 or +10% of bar at lvl 10 to your catching bar. It is a static increase, fishing lvl does not affect it, so it's approximately 3-4% of whole bar.
So with fishing lvl 13 and cork you'd get approximately 40%.

P.S. yes, all approximations are very rough, but they are about right.

Wasn't for me. I tried it with a +3 buff and the legendary fish I hooked were no easier than without the buff, regardless of tackle I was using. I honestly do not see any difference of any buff that is suppose to increase my fishing skill beyond 10 (it's at 10 now) for any fish. Unless it's a bug.

nah, all tackle is useless except for trap bobber and treasure hunter, rest are just redundant

I caught all the legendary fish using the trap bobber without any fishing buffs, combining it with +3 food could be good but it's a better alternative to cork bobber +3 food

I cought my first legendary (winter's glacierfish) using the trap bobber, 9 fishing skill +2 from food. It wasn't easy and took a couple of tries, but was manageable.

I'll need to test the cork bobber, sounds interesting. But at this point the hardwood cost is prohibitive, i am trying to save hardwood for nursery and horse upgrades, and i am very far from enough. Even doing the forest everyday for 8 hw is taking a long while.

I'll see if i can buy it from willy.

For difficult fish. I have noticed that luck is also a big factor in the ir behavior. Not saying dont fish on bad days. It can be rougher. Bobber is more personal. I prefer the slower escape.

-looks at the damn octopus who i find harder then any-

Draken, you can get 12 hw from the forest every day. There are 2 more stumps at the bottom of the screen you can get to by going throught the bushes
