What does the "farming" skill do? Why make food with +farming?

Just wondering,

Is there any reason i would want to make food that gives points to farming skill?

Wiki says nothing about what the farming affects, except for unlocking blueprints.

Each level grants +1 proficiency to the hoe and watering can

Basically you use less energy with tools when having high farming lvl. And no, despite the myth, there is no clear relation between crop quality and faming lvl. Usually, when having high lvl, you also have more farming plot, and increase the chance of having high quality crops.
