Jojamart is open 9am-11pm, everyday. If you purchase the Joja membership, you pay the same at Joja as you do at Pierre's. There's still less in stock, but they're open late, and right next to the mine carts.
I think most people choose the non-Joja route their first time, trying to fix up the Community Center... then they do the Joja route for the achievement, and realize how much easier it is...
The Community Center is the "good" route. Joja is "bad.
CC requires you donate items for bundles. In exchange, you get small items. For completing every bundle, you get an item fixed.
Example: If you donate a dandelion, leek, daffodil and horseradish, you get 30 spring seeds. If you do ALL the foraging bundles, you get (I think) the bridge to a new area fixed.
Meanwhile, with Joja's route, you can just spent 15k to have the minecarts repaired, 35k for the greenhouse, etc.
Joja is easier, but CC is "better" story-wise.
The CC definitely takes longer, so Joja is more efficient. The CC route gives you some items for free for the bundles, like giving wood and stone will give a few gold bars, or raise friendship with villagers. However, it also has its downsides, and I consider it a hefty one. Spoilers below:
If you fully repair the Community Center, Pierre's shop stays open every day of the week, whereas it's normally closed on Wednesdays. However, the Jojamart goes out of business. Shane loses his job. The store is right next to the mine carts, and open 6 hours later than Pierre's shop is.
That's why every run I've done since my first run, I've gone Joja. It's way easier and has less downsides, imo.
-Now I just need to figure out which map i want lol
I think standard or forest are the best... Hillside and riverlands aren't terrible but they aren't great. They're more for looks. I just don't think river fishing or the mini-quarry are worth sacrificing all the land for... The forest gives free food, and early access to hardwood, plus free mixed seeds.
And standard's obviously the best for profits :P
Haven't tried combat and don't plan on it
