What does luck affect?

I know luck effects things in mining but does it affect what you find in bins(Trash cans), what you find in geodes, what items mobs drop, quality of items and things like that? I'm just curious. Thanks in advance :)

I think it affects trash, finding the ladder/hole in the mines, geode stuff (more likely to get iridium from omnigeodes), and maybe monster drops. I don't think it affects item quality, but I could be wrong.

I believe it affects certain items appearing in fishing chests as well

It does not affect what you get in your geodes. That's why the best day to go open geodes is a low-luck day.
