can't get a code for my tools. i lost them and they dont come back when i wake up in the morning. btw in none of the chests/ichecked in all of them. anyone know what i can do without mods, cause i lost my password to get flashplayer ;-;

You probably still have them in a chest that you overlooked. That's why the game isn't giving a set of tools for you.

Sadly, I am certain that there are no item codes for character's tools.

I have looked at the code and it appears, to me, and without making a flow chart to check, that the game checks each save for these items - so, if this is the case, you must have them somewhere.

It also appears that it would be possible to edit these items into your inventory, but, I do not have the knowledge to tell you precisely how to go about it. If it was my game, I would play around with it to see if i could edit the tools in, but, only if I was certain that they were missing, not mislaid.

The code you need is very near the top of the saved file if you want to try it. I suggest you make a copy of your game before you do and that you make a new game file for comparison purposes. Good luck if you decide to give it a go.

If you decide to just start over, I would suggest that you keep benchmark files. I make these files on the last day of each season so that if something goes drastically wrong I always have a fall back position.

I seem to be having this problem a lot. I have "lost" a gold axe, a gold hoe and a steel pick. I know I put them into chests so I'm wondering if the chest needs to be in my farmhouse rather than in the mine or cowshed? This is so aggravating I really wish I knew how to edit the save file, I wouldn't consider it cheating!
EDIT I found out from YouTube how to edit my save file and added back my axe. I still don't know what happened to any of the tools I have lost! The game warps a basic level tool back to me as I get up next morning so I know the tool isn't in a chest off ofthe farm.

Just look in every chest that you have and 'sort' it from one of the buttons. Tools should go on the top line iirc

It's always safest to keep the chests inside where no NPC's can collide with them. I lost a chest with a few rewards and 3 rare crows, a chest I thought was out of the way! I have no clue if it was hit by lightning, or if Penny just thought to go off course and crash into it one day. *Shakes fist at Penny*

Just curious... what will happen if you put tools in the box outside of the farm and village runs through it? Is it gone for forever?

Tools are handled differently than anything else. You have to have them. If you do something that causes you to lose or destroy a tool somehow, the game is SUPPOSED to mail you a new (un-upgraded) version of that tool the next morning.

If the game doesn't mail you a new tool, then the odds are very high that you simply misplaced it and it's still accessible somewhere in a chest you've over looked somewhere.

I won't rule out the possibility that you have actually found a bug, but user error is far, far more likely in most cases.

alright. THANKYOU GUYS SO MUCH for tryingto help me out. it hasn't been normal for the past few days. i havn't been playing very often, because i can't get around as quickly without my return septer that i ALSO lost ;-; but thanks foor all the tips. ill make sure to look through everything
