Yes, you CAN grow grass in Pierre's shop.

So could you theoretically keep your livestock fed during winter doing this one weird trick?

I mean, it doesn't "grow", it won't spread past that one space

I thought since it was inside and floors it wouldn't happen but I guess there's more coding to be done. I accidentally planted one grass patch inside the building so when I first saw it I thought "Does anyone else know about this? I know the game was made by one guy but it's not really hurting anything." But this got me thinking on placing anything outside my farm in general, anytime I place a chest or a worm bin it would disappear. I later found out that the villagers would walk through items basically destroying them. So, would there be a possible patch to maybe make it so you can't place items in certain spots? Or have something highlighted show up where you can place objects without them being destroyed? That would be nice. The only "true" way to learn from this mistake is trial and error on where you can place things, or just play it safe and keep it on your land. Ugh.

Fun fact, I think you can get slime incubators and place hundreds (IF NOT THOUSANDS) of them inside the main villiage area. MWAHAHAHA

There's maps that other players have made. Google "Stardew pathing", I think the Reddit user MrPotato123 or something similar has the maps on their profile.

I don't think the game developer planned for people to put stuff outside their farm, but left the option in for the odd storage chest. I don't think he planned on us placing kegs in Haley's bedroom, or planting trees at the beach, for example.
or even filling the quarry with statues of endless fortune ;)

I wonder, does this mean that you can till some grass and plant something away from your farm? there isn't really an area large enough for it to matter, but still.
