Time Saving Tip from Winter to Spring
I decided to try a new tactic so I won't be doing so much work on the 1st day of Spring. Over the Winter I collected foraging items to craft that package of Winter Seeds. On the last day of Winter, I was able to craft enough seeds to fill out my entire crop fields with those seeds. I also have Sprinklers too by this time. The next day, I did not have to waste energy on hoeing and watering, plus I was able to do extra clean up that day! All I had to do was clear my crop fields of dead plants, which is way faster (and no energy needed). I probably saved about 3 hours of work! So it was so worth to put the time and effort in foraging every day for the Winter.

It seems to me that the combined amount of time spent foraging every day all winter long would be greater than the time needed to normally clear the farm in spring.

Winter foraging / Winter Seed planting doesn't seem that profitable.

I'm in Year 2 and this Winter I'm planning on redesigning my farm layout. The slate is wiped clean, and it's all white. If you put down paths everywhere, with lots of Makers and sprinklers, I'd imagine there's not much to clean up come Spring.

Huh, putting down paths. That actually might be a better idea. I have some winter seeds left over, I'll just replant them to replenish the ones I saved up and do the path ones. But I would still need to rehoe and water anyway, I know I can't put a path down where I've hoed something. Main purpose is to save time and energy. I am in Year 6 with all my socializing done so believe me I have plenty of time to forage while I am on my way to different places, especially since I use my horse every day.
