are rare seeds worth it?
the travelling merchant has come to town and sells them for 1000G each ^title^

Yes it takes a full season to grow one though. It produces a Star Gem Berry that can be used to one time give a permanent energy boost. If you want more info on who to give it to. https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Sweet_Gem_Berry

Wrong thing! That's the Stardrop that gives a permanent energy boost (Which you can't grow.). The Sweet gem berry is inedible, but it's the best-selling crop in the game.

The Sweet Berry Gem can only be grown in the Fall too in your reglar farm, but it can be grown anytime in your Greenhouse.

To be honest. Not really worth it trying to really farm it for profit. In order to make it really worth it you need a large amount of them. As it takes ages to get enough berries to make seeds you will spend whole years dedicating your greenhouse with them just to have enough to plant in the fall when they can grow. You can spend that time one other things but hey, it is your game. It is worth it if you plan to keep playing after year 2 and 3 but else I say no it isn't worth it if you don't want the stardrop. Good for the fair however.

It's not worth to specialize into it. Ancient Fruits more profitable and requite less work.
Simply buy them every Friday and grow at Fall in field.

P.S. One Sweet Gem Berry cost 1k to buy and sell for 3k - that's 2k profit per 24 days.
One Starfruit cost 400 to buy, starfruit wine sells for 3150 and take 13+7 = 20 days for 2750.

That's 83 gold per day for Rare Berry and 137 for starfruit wine.

P.S. Gold Rare Berry sells for 4500, so it will be 145 gold per day. But you can't guarantee that it will grow golden)
