Tee Hee, I remember another game (economic) which featured Mitrosoft, and several other closely similar company names. Probably a fraudian slip, maybe, um. Or perhaps to is satirical!

The name is clearly meant to be satirical, Joja, at a glance, seems to be a Frankenstine's Monster of real-life corporations; Walmart, Amazon, and Comcast. The company's behaviour in the game reflects what happened to smaller rural and suburban towns in the United States when those companies moved in and started business on thier own terms, going against local status-quo.

I know this because in my own hometown, Walmart moved in and their business practices caused local markets to shut down because the smaller businesses couldn't keep up with the giant, effectively what happens to Pierre's shop if you sell out to Joja in the game.
