To be able to buy 100 strawberry seeds you need to get your crops off to a very rapid start.
Plant your starter pack of pasnip seeds the head to the store. On the way pick up all forage in along the path and sell it in the store. Sell the forage and buy as many potato seeds as you can. Head to the beach and collect any shells. Hoe any dig spots - you should get an artifact. If you do, take it to Gunther and gain the donation bonus in which case return to the store and spend it on potatoes. Head home, put your shells in the sales bin and plant the potatos. The more potatoes you can plant on day one the better.
Cut wood to get 50 logs to build a storage bin. You are probably near exhausted. If you have one of each tree seed you can make them into a small energy bar.
You may be lucky and get the "Give a gift challenge" early - two more potatoes.
On day two, stash all but your hoe in the bin and go out foraging. Make sure you get to the store though in time to sell your forage and buy more potatos. Head home and plant them.
Plough all the money you can get into potatoes until the sixth. On the seventh day switch to parsnips for two days then save your money. This is because you have to harvest and sell as much as possible on the twelth.
Hope that helps.
do NOT worry about the quality crops in the 1st year (UNLESS you have 50 of that crop and quality fertiliser)
animals will NEVER die if you dont feed them, they will ONLY stop producing goods
when its raining go forage, or mine (albeit you may have some troble becuase it will be an bad luck day when its raining)
fishing IS hard, but mash the mouse instead of holding it, it can earn you 2K-5K per day IF done right.
see the travling cart on an friday and sunday, she sells items for anywhere from 500-1500 gold, and they ARE expensive but you can find items for the CC (comunity center or CC for short)
plant the following for lots of money (something that your 1st year should be about doing, the community center (CC for short) is second in the 1st year.
SPRING: potatoes, califlower, (and parsnips ONLY in year 1, they dont sell for much and are'nt worth the money, but in yr 1 they are good)
SUMMER:melon, blueberries, (starfruit IF you have acess to the desert, and red cabbage is better than melons BUT is only avalible in your second year)
FALL: cranberries, pumpkin or really anything BESIDES wheat and sunflowers, they sell for nothing sunflower LOOSES you money
WINTER: hoe the beach with your hoe, by doing so you can earn 2000-5000 an day, also plant winter wild seeds, they ae the only thing that can grow in winter
You can use one of those berries in Secret Forest to permanently increase your Stamina by using it of statue.
Harvest everything. Restore stamina by food. Repeat.
Raw stuff costs less than processed.
Like, egg is few golds, but with Mayonnaise Machine you can make it into Mayo, which is 1:1 from eggs, but sells for x3 price. Or with Preserves Jar you can make Pickles or Jelly from any vedges/fruits, which costs x2 of base price +50.
Those two age good and avaliable on low-level, 2 and 4 of Farming. Onliny thing is Earth Crystal for Mayo machine, which is avaliable via Mine and kinda pure luck, and Jar requre some resources, including 8 coal which isnt that common at beginning. Anyways, good for money and better than nothing until you gain Farming 8 and get access to Keg.
Fishing is cool, too, and dunno about mining, wasnt used it as money-making.
