Cauliflower?
I have to get Jodi one for cooking, but I'm already at the end of spring and my cauliflower is 1 day off... can I buy them from anywhere?

Not that I'm aware of. Might want to check the traveling cart. She could be selling one, although i'm not 100% sure if it is sold there.

The event never goes away. You can do it next year. Or buy one from the cart in the forest sometimes. Orrr if you manage to get your greenhouse before next spring, you could buy a cauliflower seed and plant it in the greenhouse.

But does it put a stop to the timeline? Or are these quests just random and don't affect much?

the quests without any deadlines don't have any major effect on the timeline and can be done at your leisure. The ones that do have a deadline also don't effect much but they have a deadline and you should accept the ones with a deadline/time limit only if you have the materials or can get the requested items..
