Dark Souls: Fishing Edition?
For real though... Anyone got any fishing tips? The bar runs out so quick its almost depleted by the time my frantic clicking can get it to the fish. Then trying to keep it there is like trying to change a diaper on a fussy baby. Piss in face included.

I've found that the fish in the lake area / river mouth close to the mine are generally calmer. As you level up that skill the bar increases in size and the buying better poles helps you catch fish easier. It's definitely tricky when you're first starting out.

I find that most of the Mountain Lake fish are harder than those in the Town River.

The Carp are super easy, but Chubs move a lot, Bullheads move up very quickly before stopping but then move either up or down all of a sudden, and Largemouth Bass are very hard for level 0 Fishing.

In comparison, the Town River only has Sunfish and Smallmouth Bass, both of which are easy, and when the sun starts to set, Sunfish leave and Bream come out, and Bream are as easy as Carp.

That's for spring, of course. And clear days. If it rains, Sunfish don't bite and Catfish appear. Catfish are hard.

I usually just fish in the Town River or Ocean for a couple days to get my Fishing to level 4, then I move on to the Mountain Lake since the fish are more valuable there.

If they're having trouble fishing, they're not level 6 yet. They don't have access to Tackle.

Fishing becomes considerably easier when your fishing rank is higher. At level 10 Fishing I can catch pretty much any non-legendary fish reliably.

Sometimes I don't even have to click to get Perfect.

Sweet dude, I'll give the town a shot! Thx for all the info. Can you catch fish on your farm? (I'm on the forest farm).

You can catch fish on your farm, but it's only practical to do so on the Riverlands map. The other ones have a lot of trash. I hear the default map only has trash but I've never tested it.

The Forest Farm, besides lots of trash, has the same fish as the Town River. But because it's part of the Secret Woods, unlike other maps, its ponds also have Woodskip. Still not a good idea to fish in there, but it's interesting that the dev bothered to make a unique fish list for this map.

Easy Fishing Mod. Can chose between 25%, 50% and 75% easier.
Fishing can take some time getting used to. I remember it being really hard and confusing at first and now I'm gotten Master Angler achievement. As you level up your skill it becomes much easier. The green bar becomes bigger meaning it's easier to keep the fish within in.

Fishing in pond in farm gave me lots of junk, easy way to level skill/ I believe if you cast with less of bar fill (red/yellow instead of green) you get lower quality fish (easier maybe?). Certain food buffs can give fishing bonuses. Late game you can use tackles to make fish escape slower (good for catching the actual hard to catch fish that jump around a lot like Legend, Octopus, Lava Eel, etc.)

At max level fishing is actually pretty boring for most fish as the bar is so large and most fish don't move much really.
