Salmonberries and blackberries are nice to stockpile, because they're easily accessible and free.

Field snacks are nice as well but it is more limited unless you are cutting down lots of different trees a lot.
Also shashimi is nice again only if you are getting fish consistantly and turn the trash fish into food,

Yep, I second berries.

They're plentiful and worthless, which means you have unlimited amounts of them and eating them doesn't cost you a significant amount of gold.

Personally, I buy and stockpile salads for my personal use

Depends on the playthrough, but usually my foraging is high enough by salmonberry season that I can get enough to last me through summer.

Upgrading tools helps save a LOT of energy.

Hops are great for energy during the last half of summer. They regrow daily and give 45 energy at worst.

I keep salmon or blackberries for general use, but I alwaysh take a stack of gold star cheese with me when I go mining in the skull caverns or go anywhere that I might come under fire if I haven't gotten myself to the point where I can gather iridium bush berries.

Generally I stockpile the lower quality eggs and milk so i can turn them into farmer lunches (which is supposed to give you a big boost in tending to animals and crops if i remember correctly) but all the berries and regrowable plants like corn and tomatoes are also stockpiled.
it depends on kitchen.

I would stockpile fish O' sea before summer. Gotta get those cucumbers.

For regaining energy, I'm not going to argue with salmonberries and blackberries.

For buff food, it's either lobster bisque or dish o' the sea (for fishing) or pepper poppers (for everything else). Speed buff foods in general are pretty much the best for just about anything, and pepper poppers are the net cheapest and easiest one to cook. Plus, the farming skill bonus they provide on top of the speed boost is also nice.

maple bars because they give you fishing + luck + mining + foraging or something else theyre the best if you ask me because of all the ++++s lol

I like having iridium cheese on hand, great for an emergency life refill if you are in the mines

As others have said, Salmonberries in the beginning are great. Once Demetrius converts my cave for mushroom production, it provides enough to cover most of my energy needs for most of the rest of the game. By endgame, I've got enough supplies to cook stuff regularly.

Fried eggs for me. 4 - 5 restores full bars when mining

I would recommend not using eggs that way.

Even if you're using a small egg and don't have Rancher or Artisan, each Mayonnaise is worth 190g. Instead of making 5 Fried Eggs, you could be making 5 Mayonnaise and selling them. That'll get you more than enough gold for four Salads, which will heal a total of 200 HP and 452 Energy instead of just 110 HP and 250 Energy for five Fried Eggs.

This way you get almost double the healing/energy, and you'll have some leftover gold too.
