I worked hard. Made over 350 gold, many friends, animals who loved me, got the rusty key....
Grandpa said I was a bad choice and gave me 1 candle. Now he won't accept a diamond to come back. WTF?

I hope you meant your farm made over 350k gold. That should get you 4 out of 7 points for Total Earnings (you'll need over 1 million gold in total earnings to get the other 3). If your claim of 'many friends' means 8 hearts with 10 villagers, then you got 2 points (1 point for 8 hearts with 5 villagers and another point for 8 hearts with 10 villagers). Animals don't count. You didn't mention skills, achievements, marriage, or completing the community center so I assume no points for those. So I count maybe 7 points (including 1 for the rusty key).

But 1 candle means you got 0-3 points in the evaluation. One was the rusty key, so maybe you did actually get total earnings of 350 gold, because total earnings of 350k alone should get you 2 candles.

Summoning grandpa again usually takes a few days, or a reload of the game (after donating a diamond) or sometimes he'll come on the first day of the following season. This is all from the wiki. https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Grandpa

edit: oh, just saw the clarification about the gold earned. Hmmm....seems like a bug, or maybe something mod related?

It was 350,000. My phone edited off the "k". But whichever, it seems he doesn't agree, and won't come back.

This is everyhting that needs to be done to earn points, maybe you missed something, or it's glitched

and pretty sure the animals have nothing to do with it if the wiki is right

Read the wiki. It specifically states a pet with 4 hearts. Got that. Even so, only 1 candle. And this has happened a few times. Never gotten more than 1 candle.

Pretty sure by Pet, it means either the cat or the dog, and there's no way to check that, so your faem animals you get mild from, wool, eggs, etc, do not count

Can you post some screenshots of your villagers section, your earnings section, skills section and have you completed the community centre, seend the community cxentre ceremony, gotten skull key, married with fully upgraded house, and by fully upgraded, with basement? Hopefully we can figure out if this is a glitch

I can't do screenshots for the moment. But, Okay. Community Center and ceremony were done. Had 365,000 plus earnings. Was not married and had not (nor can I yet) finished the house with cellar. Had the rusty key, not the skull key. And still cannot put a diamond on the shrine.

you can;t put the diamond untuil the next year i think, i could be wrong, thinks that what i was told by grandpa when i got my evaluation, you said you have 6 skills, is that 6 in each skill tree?

I have to wait until year 4 then? So many people have been saying they can do it even in year 3.
