Need More Rain
Is there any other way to cause rain besides a Rain Totem? I am only foraging level 3, and I need a storming/raining day to be able to get the six heart cutscene with Shane. I have waited forever and now it is now summer, and I am not sure if there will be rain anytime soon and I really want to experience every cutscene for myself. :steamsad:

Er yea it is only the first year. Hopefully, for awhile before that I have checked every day and I haven't seen it rain so far.

Even if you were Foraging 9, you need Truffle Oil to make a Rain Totem... it's pretty much uncraftable until the late-ish game.

Depending on the RNG, it might indeed take time to get a rainy day. But they're not that rare, so I would simply keep playing.

Hopefully you'll have leveled your Foraging to 6 before your first thunderstorm.

Oh, that is too bad. Why is it so hard/uncraftable if I may ask?

I shall, hopefully it will rain soon.

Summer seems to be coming with lots of things to gather, so I think I shouldn't have too much trouble hopefully.

second half of summer should be plenty of thunderstorms. you should get your foraging skill up for lightning rods.

That is good! I sure hope it does rain.. I am gathering a good amount of stuff so hopefully I level up soon.

The Truffle Oil.

Unless you get very lucky with the Traveling Cart, you'll need Pigs to find Truffles. Pigs require a fully upgraded Barn, which costs 43,000g, and a single Pig costs 16,000g on top of that.

Very few players get Pigs in the first year. Kind of expensive for the first three seasons, and the Pigs don't produce in the fourth.

I generally pick up pigs around winter 18. gives them ten days to grow in the barn so they can start producing in spring.

Yeah, even experienced players generally won't be getting Truffles until year 2.

It's what makes Rain Totems impractical until the mid-late game (at which point you don't need them anymore).

Im in year 4, and i need a red snapper and a walleye to finish the fishing bundle. it's been 15 days of summer and there's been no rain. only "rain" ive gotten is lightning and i cant catch the snapper with that weather.

why can't you catch a snapper with lightning?
Kronos_Baggins Jul 19, 2023 @ 6:32am
As far as I know it always rains on the 13th and 26th in summer.

Summer starts with a low chance on rain at the beginning and it gets more likely to rain as the season progresses. Other than that, year 4 is already quite far into the game, what stops you from crafting a few rain totems and just make it rain, until you get it? And as others have said, 13th and 26th always rain. The lightning doesn't affect fish spawns.

he is getting rain, he just somehow felt he couldn't catch a red snapper during lightning.
