Why cant i redo grandpas shrine

ive heard people say you can put a diamond in the shine to talk to grandpa again but when i do it nothing happens. i have 3 torches lit and i should be getting the fourth candle (acourding to the wiki) but when i put a diamond in the shrine and sleep nothing happens, just goes to the results screen then starts the new day. please help

Re-read that part of the wiki.

He doesn't necessarily show up the next night. In some cases you might have to wait an entire season.

The player can be re-evaluated at any time by placing a Diamond into Grandpa's Shrine (Grandpa will show up on the following day, after a game load or the first day of the following season in some cases). This means that the opportunity to obtain all four candles is extended beyond the initial two year evaluation.

It says in some cases he may show up 1st day of the following season, he may not show up right away.

here is what I did.. after I put the diamond and saved the game, before playing the next in-game day I closed my game. When I re-loaded my game grandpa showed up and I got 4 candles. Hope this works for you too!

Yeah I had a 3 day wait when I got re-evaluated.

This event glitched for me the first time. I got 4 candles, but grandpa didn't show up, and I didn't get the statue. Then later that day, he showed up (in midafternoon while I was awake), and still no statue from the shrine. The shrine won't accept a diamond from me (maybe because its already at 4 lit candles), so I can't be reevaluated. I ended up using a modded community center bundle to get my statue of perfection. So I have one,b ut it wasn't from my stingy glitchy grandpa!
