But a single heart takes 250 points, and a "loved" gift (on their birthday) gives you 640 points.
So ... if a candidate is at 7.9, and you give them a loved gift on their birthday...
Then it is possible to get beyond 8 hearts. I've never personally seen this bump them to 10, but mathematically, it seems like is should be possible.
I just gave them gifts normally and it kept raising above 8. Though I should mention the social tab in the menu still shows the last 2 hearts blacked out. So it only says 8 in the menu, but when talking with the person, the little coloured ball below their portrait shows x/10
Also worth noting, the social tab says he's single instead of boyfriend.
