Early Marriage
Is there any reason not to marry early?
I'm in the winter of the first year and I think I can marry Abigail before this year ends, so should I do it?

There's no good reason to marry other than Grandpa's evaluation, which is Year 3. There is a very low chance they will randomly do something useful like repair your fences or water your crops but other than that it's just roleplay.

That said, there's also no good reason not to marry... so go for it if ya wanna.

If you want to see the 10 hearts cut-scenes for all the available characters..then don't marry early..however, if you're sure that person is the one you wanted to be with, then go for it.

Do you have the mermaid pendant? If not you'll have to wait til spring anyway.

Marriage is good for the evaluation but you can also redo the evaluation at any point with a diamond. I'm regretting not taking more time to do heart events even though I who I married. I did end up changing who I was going to marry because of the heart events I did see.

This would be a good reason. Once you're married, you risk making your spouse angry by giving bouquets to other characters. If you're not married, you can shower the whole town with bouquets with no consequence.

It's also somewhat expensive. If it's early in the game, then surely you've got better things to do with that 15,000g.

There is one good reason to get married: Your spouse will give you a Stardrop at 13 hearts.

Personally, I am not yet married and I had four candles on my grandfather's shrine. This marriage is not important. It only gives you some good bonus when they arrive, like the stardrop, the bowl of water of your dog / cat, water all your plants (useless if you have sprinkler) or a random meal according to your wife or your husband.

I don't want to marry for actual benefit, I just want to marry because.... I want to marry, feel like I'm actually progressing towards my long-term goals in-game.

I probably will get most the characters I love to 6~8 hearts then marry abigail :OkaySir:
