Stardew Valley

Stardew Valley

Farm is filled with trees to the point I can't move and my mail box is overflowing
So, I woke up today in late Fall, and when I went outside my farm is literally filled with trees. To the point that if I hadn't been lucky enough to be storing my axe in my house, I wouldn't have been able to leave my porch. Once I was able to get to my mail box, I had about a dozen letters. Apparently both the Egg Hunt and Flower Festival and Beach Luau are all on the same day ... in Fall.

This feels like a bug to me, but it also seems like it could be another bizarre Stardew Valley event/hallucination.

If it is a bug, has anyone else experienced it and can advise how to fix it? Or do I just have to start over? Thanks.

Did you sleep through spring & summer? I have no idea how this could happen. I have over 800 hours in the game & have never had this happen. Yes, I know, I have no life, lol

It sounds like you skipped a lot of time, possibly a whole year.

Could be a bug, but if so, it'd be a rare one.

Do you use non-aesthetic mods or edit your save file? That could have done it.

What do you think is the bug? The trees might be a bug if you only slept through a few days, but if you slept through a long period of time then it is perfectly explanable.
All of the letters that talk about the festivals were just piled up from before.

I believe the bug is that OP went to sleep one night, woke up, and for some reason a whole year had passed.

Haha, ok, so I don't know how it happened, but apparently I slept for four years. I didn't think to look at what year I was in until you guys mentioned it. Last I remember I was in Year 1, now I'm in Year 5. I think I brought up the inventory menu in the middle of a day to pause the game, because I was done playing but didn't want to lose the days progress and didn't want to go to bed, and just left it. A couple real life days later I shut down steam without shutting down Stardew Valley first (don't know if that has anything to do with it). I guess bringing up the inventory doesn't pause time? Or somehow it got unpaused? Either way it looks like it's not a bug, I just did something stupid. Glad I can just get to work chopping trees and try to get the farm back in shape without worrying about a gamebreaking bug making it all in vain. Thanks!

The inventory menu does pause time. I think steam had a problem with the game when you closed it out. But that's just my guess.

Change your name to Rip Van Winkle.

Did the Grandpa shrine light up?

Pretty sure you somehow unpaused the game then left it running for 4 days.

Say each day's 15 minutes long. 28 days per season, 4 seasons per year, 4 years, 112 days times 15 minutes is 1680 minutes, times 4 is 6720, or 112 hours, or 4.6 days. :P

That's not possible though. He'd have passed out and then the end of day menu would come up along with dialog from whoever saved him.

There's no dialogue. It's always just mail.

I believe there's also no breakdown of how much you made if all the fields are empty.

Poor little guy. Waking up at 6:00 and staying up every day doing nothing until he passes out in his own bed at 2:00. Over and over, for four years.

Post a screenshot please OP! I'd like to see that. Thanks

If he was in his house, and he had nothing in the box, then nobody would save him, and there'd be no end of day menu.

Fun time eh? Going to take a good while to clean up if you're planning on playing on the same profile still.

Start chopping! On the plus side, you can sell most of that wood and still have more than you'll even need in storage.
Oh... and lots of snack bars.
