I however use ''anime'' styled portraits: both part 1[www.nexusmods.com] and part 2 [www.nexusmods.com]
But I guess it is up to prefference.
Now, if only all of them were dragons.
It's better to just hand-pick your favorite appearance for each character individually.
I changed Maru back to one of her cute earlier versions, made Pam hot, and made Leah and Penny more busty.
Me too, which is why the mods that I use are all highly compatible with the original art style.
The Maru portrait is actually an official one, just one that has been discarded.
The busty versions of Leah and Penny are the original portraits with just the chests being different.
The "Hot Pam" portrait uses a slightly different art style, but I use a version that does not clash with the game's default art style.
Better than being forced to use every single change contained in a portrait pack, IMO.
All of pencilstab's portraits are really nice, so I don't have that problem.
It's a matter of personal preference, so that's fine.
I'm just saying, getting portraits from different mods will not necessarily create an art style clash... though I'll admit that's usually because a lot of the portraits attempt to be compatible with the game's original art style.
For me, it completes the experience with interacting the villagers - like everything aesthetically makes sense. If I only change a handful of portraits, looking back at the default ones will break the immersion.
I understand it's not easy to find these mods, but how hard is it to make 42 portraits really? (Not sure if I got the number right)
I guess I'm really lucky that I'm OK with the default art style. The few portraits that I chose to change being compatible with it, there is no art style clash or immersion break.
It depends on the person and their artstyle, some are quicker, some are slower.
