If it's the day before and you're on the day of the festival already, you can simply talk to everyone there and the game will ask you if you want to give a present when you talk to the right person. You can exit to title and start your day again.
Um... since I've always had other people as my gift recipients, I couldn't tell for sure, but Lewis organizes the event and has to know everyone's secret santas so he can tell them who they are beforehand. It wouldn't make sense for him to be part of it, or to be part of it and somehow not know where he stands on his own list.
Are you sure the mail didn't have a name? The person's name is on its own line, kind of separate from the main text, presumably because the difference in people's name lengths would have messed up the text otherwise.
In any case, like I said, you can simply talk to the people at the festival to find out and then reset the day.
Well then, report it as a bug.
I just did this about an hour ago and he mentioned Linus' name again in his 2nd letter. I noticed because the developer used an entire line of the email for Linus' name.
Maybe he self-hypnotizes to forget who he's receiving a gift from after drawing them and sending the mails.
...that, or he makes sure that his Secret Santa's always Marnie.
