Farm Design help.
I have absolutely no idea how to set up my farm. I want to make everything fit, and make it look nice, but have absolutely no clue as to how to go about it.

Could someone help me out? I'd like the plan in place before I start a new game, so I can set it up as I go instead of sinking a huge amount into it at end-game. By the time I stop playing Stardew for a while, I should have everything setup so I can just jump back in and play a few days here and there.

I have a few specifications for said farm, but I wanted to know if anyone would help me out with design before posting it.

you are able to move their buildings around (expect the house). so even if you dont like where you have something in the beginning you can always go back and move it for free. but i would keep your garden / farming area close to water in the beginning until you have sprinklers.

You can play around with designs here:

https://stardew.info/planner/

as well as upload a save file to start with.

I know there is a planner, and I know I can move buildings.

I am asking for help in creating a layout, since I have no real skill in this area.

If it was up to me, I'd have a whole mess of buildings surrounding the farmhouse and crops planted in the little space there was left after. I wouldn't even move anything, cause I wouldn't know where to move it to, and would get frustrated with the entire thing after maybe an hour or two of gameplay.

I'm asking if someone would help me come up with a layout that uses the farmland more effectively. Looking nice is only a bonus.

Well... I won't claim to have the perfect setup. I'm always adjusting things, tweaking the layout. I also don't like to turn my farm into parkland either. I like it to look "rustic".

But ... here's what I did with my most recent playthrough: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=970487097

I did end up expanding the Cow paddock downwards and then moving the Coop inside. It doesn't look as "pretty" as I might like, but gets the Coop and the Animal barn closer together, so that I'm not traipsing across the farm all the time in order to deal with both sets of animals.

I'm also only using about half the land there, with the other half left to grow wild.

Bam. Just for you, babe.

Don't worry too much about planning in the beginning. I would shy away from planting fruit trees, though, as they take a long time to grow and can't be moved. Buildings and crops and paths can easily be moved at the season change.

Here's my first farm: http://upload.farm/static/images/0/1BrfRm/1BrfRm-m.png
Here was my forest farm which I kinda messed up: http://upload.farm/static/images/1/1CnIXm/1CnIXm-m.png
Here's my non-farming farm (focus on mining and foraging): http://upload.farm/static/images/1/1CIt8b/1CIt8b-m.png
Here's my wilderness farm: http://upload.farm/static/images/1/1D37uj/1D37uj-m.png
And here's my current work in progress, a duck-based animal farm with a small garden: http://upload.farm/static/images/2/1DwYKu/1DwYKu-m.png

It's more like I can't plan at all...... Seriously, I **** up all the time and end up restarting .......... over and over............. endlessly..........

I can't even use the planner right cause it only ends up like how I play my game and I end up ragequiting.

I'd like to have some sort of plan that I can work towards on my farm, but I am utterly hopeless with it.

So think of this as a challenge, can you design something that has these requirements?

Forest or Wilderness farms preferred, elsewise use Default
Greenhouse is going to have a single Fruit tree of each type, and sprinklers, but will be mainly used for crop seed production for all seasons, with a 2x2 area set aside each for Sweet Gem Berry and Ancient Fruits.

Outside fields contain:
TREES;
5 each of Pine, Maple, and Oak for tapping
2 each of all Fruit Trees

BUILDINGS;
3 Silo at least, more if necessary
Enough Deluxe Barns to have 3-4 of each Barn animal (Brown and White cows are counted as different animals even though they are both cattle)
Enough Deluxe Coops to have 3-4 of each Coop Animal (Blue, Brown, White and Void chickens are counted as different animals even though they are all chickens)
4 Slime Hutch (one for each colour egg) bonus points for little breeding areas nearby outside to obtain all the colours of slime
As many Sheds as needed for the below requirements

SHEDS, also include the BASEMENT in this catagory;
Enough Crystalariums to have one of each gem being cloned
5-10 Fermenting Barrels and Preserve Jars in a shared shed
5-10 of each Maker Machine (Mayo, Loom, etc) in a shared shed, if possible, near to the animals
5-10 Aging barrels in basement

MISC;
Crop fields at 2 fields per crop per season. 1 field = 1 Iridium Sprinkler (Must have gap seperating different crop field pairs, also must have enough to plant all available crops each season plus wild seeds for that season including unlocked seeds from year 2 and the Oasis)
Junimo Huts for fields (mainly for trellis crops, otherwise trellis is planted in seperate rows for harvest)
Scarecrows to cover fields (must have Lighting Rod placed DIRECTLY behind Scarecrow)
Additional Lighting Rods to protect crops
Area for Hay production (seperate from the grassy area for the animals)
Pathways to each area
Water Obelisk and Mountain Obelisk
Stable
NO GOLD CLOCK
Small area left wild for Wood, Mushroom Trees and Fibre / Mixed Seed Weeds.

(I think you can see why I get so dang frustrated, especially with these high expectations!
What makes matters worse is that I get so hung up on these and end up not enjoying the game. If it's all plotted out, then I'd be able to sit back and work at my own pace in order to get it done. It's actually plotting it out that bites me HARD where the sun don't shine.)

Whoa, you can move buildings now? How can I do that? I've accidentally blocked off the North entrance to my farm with silos and a chicken barn...

Also, graph paper. Graph paper is your friieeeendd.

Choose the Construct Farm Buildings option with Robin. There's a button on the bottom which allows you to move any farm building. Be sure the location you want to move the build to is completely empty.

Kewl. I admit that I haven't played in well over a year, and am just perusing the forums to build up motivation to play.

I'm not trying to be rude, but you're coming across as very demanding, and quite frankly, your requests are ridiculous. You need to trim some of the fat. You don't need a separate coop for brown and white chickens. You don't need 4 slime hutches; 1 is enough for most people, 2 for the more experienced. You don't need a crystalarium for literally every gem; 10 is plenty for gifting purposes, anything past that is just being weird or crazy.

Furthermore, nobody's going to design your shed, basement or greenhouse for you; that's something very simply you could do yourself.

If you can trim down the requirements a bit, I'm sure plenty of people on here would be willing to help you make a beautiful farm plan with most of your requirements. 1-2 of every fruit tree, 5 of normal trees? Completely doable. Placing lightning rods by scarecrows? No problem.

I actually spent 5 minutes trying to fit all your crazy requirements into the forest map, and it looks like utter garbage. Having 15 buildings on one map tends to make it look very cluttered.

I recommend:
- 1-2 of every fruit tree
- 3-5 of every normal tree
- 10-12 lightning rods out of sight, such as behind the greenhouse, not necessarily behind a scarecrow
- A shed near the animals, near the house, and another tucked away for crystalariums
- I literally don't know what you're asking in terms of crop fields. If you want your crops separated by at least 1 tile, that's fine, but... the way you phrased it, what? If you're expecting to have 15 buildings and 1000 crops on one map, that's not happening.

If you can narrow it down a little, I can try to help you, but your initial requests are just crazy.

3 each of Pine, Maple, and Oak for tapping (5 if possible)
2 each of all Fruit Trees
2 Silo at least, more if necessary
1 Shed near animal barns
1 Shed near upper farm entrance perferably near the house
2-3 Barns (will be upgraded to Deluxe over the course)
2-3 Coops (see above)
Scarecrows to cover fields
Lighting Rods to protect crops
Area for Hay production (seperate from animal area)
Pathways to each area
Water Obelisk and Mountain Obelisk
Stable
NO GOLD CLOCK
Small area left wild for Wood, Mushroom Trees and Fibre / Mixed Seed Weeds.
Beehive area with Flower Fields.

Switched my thought process regarding sprinklers, downgraded from Iridium to Quality.
My thought process here is corrobarating the area a sprinkler 'waters' as one crop field.
I still want to be able to grow a single field of all crops available during each season, including the wild forage seeds, the oasis crops, and the crops unlocked during the 2nd year.
If possible, please include a single space between crop 'fields'. Also, I only put the Lighting Rods directly behind the Scarecrows so I can't plant anything behind them (that and I had heard that Lighting Rods have a range, and crops can be hurt if they aren't in that range).

I only wanted the Slime Hutches in order to keep the four starting colours 'pure' with the area near it used to breed 'hybrid' colours in order to see just how many kinds of slime there are. I don't really need it.

And sorry if I seemed demanding, I really wasn't trying to come off like that. Thanks for telling me what I had wanted was not possible (well that explains why I kept getting so dang frustrated with the setup).
