Chopping down fruit trees
Do I get the seeds back if I chop down fruit trees to plant them on the other side of the farm? Or do I need to purchase a new seed fom the shop?

You need to purchase a new sapling every time, unfortunately.

nope, you don't get the seeds back. You can't even put a fruit into the seed makers to make more seeds (it'd be nice if concerned ape made a crafting item that works much like the seed maker only for replicating/duplicating saplings). You have to buy the saplings again like Katalia said.

Old thread but thought I would add an update. As of today, you can cut down fruit trees and get back your sapling seed. Tested on Apple tree and Orange tree, got back both saplings so I can replant.

yes, and if the tree provides a star, the sapling maintains that star. as of like february, but we decided not to do necromancy.
