Lets talk Junimo tactics now. They are using cold, ruthless tactics of a drug pusher.
It starts off innocent enough - bring us some cheap stuff and we will repair the whole bloody room.
But then they want more and more. And they offer less and less. Near the end the rewards are simply minor. Compare repairing the whole damn room to simply replacing a broken aquarium. Do you need to spend a whole year catching every single existing fish in all seasons, all bodies of water in Valley and beyond to replace an aquarium normally? No, because thats a scam.
Lets talk consequences.
If you favor Junimos over Joja, you are leaving Shane, Sam and that unknown redhead cashier without a work. And who knows how many more people. Including Morris, by the way, and that guy who is chilling at warehouse if you buy membership.
Other then than, you are non-directly favoring the shammy business that Pierre is running.
He got a horrible business model, he cannot handle competition and only way for him to stay economically viable is to be carried by a kind farmer and elven magic.
There is a bloody mart next corner and he thinks that he can afford to be closed on wendsdays.
He got the money. And I know. I saw the prices that he puts on the produce I sell to him. Thats at least a double markup.
Hire some damn help you, slob you, and at least keep the shop running all seven days. That would be a good start.
And Pierre knows that what he is doing is not entirely ethical or viable. He has a dialogue where he reffers to player's produce being on sale in his shop at outrageous prices. He tries to reason with player and asks them not to get pissed off.
Am I not telling the truth? Will Shane, Sam, redhead and Morris not loose their jobs if Jojamart closes?
Which is evident by marrying him. Just look at your room with Shane in it and look at Shane's room at Marnie's.
I only chose to go with Joja on my only cheat playthrough... I got 3 million bucks by doing the golden pumpkin trick on the spirit eve event ( it's patched now ) and went with Joja, which was the easy way ( you just need to spend money ). But just like Katalla19 said, they are spirit teachers and in the long run you would feel contributing to the town alot by making the town better by gathering the people together in a special way. I REALLY wish there were a option to cancel the Joja membership....... Excuse my English
Wait, wrong game.
They send the Bulletin Board bundles to people, fill the Pantry with the food that you brought, fill the Safe with the gold that you gave them... potentially, you can't put all those fish together in the same aquarium, so they do keep the extra fish, but their total value isn't anywhere close to that of all the stuff that they gave you for completing the bundles. Not to mention all the labor that they put in fixing the center and repairing stuff across town.
I'm not sure how Joja even manages to operate. Despite running a much larger operation and cutting costs at the expense of people's health, their products are actually more expensive than Pierre's. The only way to bring prices down to Pierre's level is to buy a 5,000g membership. Realistically, no one would shop at JojaMart. In the real world, these large operations only work because they can undercut smaller stores that don't cut costs at the expense of the people and the world.
Ah well. In the real world, girls don't eat rocks either.
This is a silly, silly game.
I know it's been awhile but the red headed cashier is actually named Clair and if you talk with her enough times in different locations and times, she mentions how she hates her job and doesn't even live in pelican town which is why she's always so tired.
