Husband options are terrible!

Seriously, all the men are horribly obnoxious. Am I the only one that thinks this? The only one that doesn't constantly bother me is Harvey.
Why can't I just marry Clint? lol
I've resorted to wooing Leah, since she's the only romance-able character that I like. Maru would be my second choice, I suppose, but the men are just SO disappointing!

EDIT: I should add that I love Stardew Valley and the relationship aspect of the game is not terribly important to me so I don't really care, I'm just curious what others think.

Dream Daddy definitely is nothing like SDV, for the record. Just a (mostly) joke dad dating simulator. If you google it you can see all the dads you can romance.

IMO the men in Stardew come off as what dudes think chicks like. Where the chicks are written a bit better because dudes know what dudes like.

That seems like the biggest problem, especially considering that you can marry the same sex, but even then, I'd disagree and say that the guys are written better.

Well, if CA plans on developing the characters (which he should) then he should take help from others in order to write them properly.

I have to say, after I've started friending some of the dudes I ignored, I'm not liking some of the men either.

Sam and Sebastian are practically teenagers, or very young adults. Alex is one I was starting to have fun with, until he said he tossed out his old clothes instead of donating them because he didn't like the idea of some poor guy wearing them... jerk.

Shane is a complete jerk at first, but at least he warms up later and has a reason for being so sour about life. Elliott is... well, he's not bad, but even at 8 hearts I feel like I don't know him.

Moar writing! There's too little dialogue about these characters! They either seem shallow or incomplete for now. Well, the ladies have just as little dialogue, but at least they can be funny, and their events are more significant (like meeting Abigail in the rain).

That is very true. Many of their dialogue or event seems incomplete or even inconsistant. For example...in Sam's first four heart events (2~8 hearts), he treats you the same way how he treats his other friends. It doesn't feel that you are special to him or something, just a good friend. But at 10 heart he just suddently confess to you, and you might end up in his bed(if you choose the "right answer"). It just totally makes me feel "WDF?! What is going on? How did this romance relationship pop-up from nowhere????"

Hmmm that I think it's just personal preference. Both male and female storyline has problems here and there. Personally, I don't like Haley's story because it looks very inconsistant. The dialogue and scene is too limited, it didn't show why and how she change her view of country life. The events make it seems like Haley transformed spontaneously for no reason, and that feels rather weird.

I thought the same. I hated all of the men in the game. Some are egotistical, alcholics, annoying, smoke, etc. So, I decided, "Eh, I'll just marry Leah because she seems reasonable and far better than the men in the game". Honestly though, I got to high hearts with Shane and he isn't that bad. Your character just needs to get to know him. I imagine that it's the same with many of the other characters, I just haven't tried yet. I think I just chose Leah for my first go around because she seemed the least terrible right off the bat. Agree! Sebby smokes all the time, but after we marry, at the first day he tells me that he would try his best to quit it for me

I honestly would like to see a Wizard option, or to see a little more personality in the general male dating pool. They all seem pretty interchangeable with just one quirk each to make them different. Admittedly, I haven't dated any of the girls yet; I've been working through the whole game bit by bit, working through the boys first before the girls with each new game.
