Potluck trouble
Hi, it's the Luau Festival, and I can't throw anything into the big pot! I'm supposed to climb the steps and toss in my ingredient, but my inventory menu blocks the way. I looked at the options for screen resolution, but it was greyed out.

(Sorry if this is a newbie question; I just started playing a few days ago!).

I did a google search but in the video I found about the festival the person's inventory menu wasn't in the way! Could someone please help? Thanks in advance!

Are you playing in the windowed mode? If so, change to fullscreen or borderless window mode, that might help.

Turns out I was playing in borderles window mode and that's why the resolution button was greyed out (I guess). I tried windowed mode and fullscreen mode with the smallest resolution I could find, but my menu's still in the way. Thanks for trying!

u just click the item u wanna put in

That doesn't work. When I do that, the item moves with the cursor, and like I said, I can't reach the pot.

hmm
restart day or game or both

IIRC, you should be holding the item (item should be in the top row of your inventory) and put the item in the pot just like you'd gift it to an NPC.

It doesn't quite work like that during festivals, when your inventory is unavailable.

You activate the object you want to interact with (in this instance it would be the soup pot), your inventory pops up, and then you have to choose an item.

If I remember correctly, choosing that item causes it to be picked up by the cursor, and you then have to move it to the pot to drop it in.

OP's inventory appears to be appearing over the pot, blocking access. Someone else reported a similar issue with the museum.

Maybe a resolution issue of some kind.

i have an idea, go into your menu, the one with the options and controls and uncheck the option that locks the tool bar and see if it fixes the problem.

Thanks, but the option was already unchecked.

1. Climb the stairs at the pot,
2. Click on the Pot (or press whichever button acts as right-mouse)
3. Click on item you want to throw in,
4. Done.

Unfortunately it seems that you have to drag and drop the item into the pot.

Some people have an issue where their inventory is covering up the pot (and some museum tables), meaning they cannot drop the item where it's supposed to go.
