Why the hell is haley so rude?

From like day 5 of starting i tried giving a daffodil to haley every day because i seemed to like her the most and she enjoyed the daffodil gifts. It was going pretty well, other than the fact she ignored me most of the time and was rude quite often but i dont mind that. When the flower festival thing came i was hoping she would dance with me, but she just said "ew, no"

what the actual ♥♥♥♥? I made the effort to collect daffodils to give to you almost every day, waiting outside your house and you just say "ew, no"? whats even the point of the flower festival in the first year if you're just gonna be rejected by everyone and feel sad and lonely (even though its just a video game). After that trick she pulled she can ♥♥♥♥ right off and now im trying to get leah to like me.

Maybe to encourage the player to explore the marriage candidates so they have someone to dance with in year 2? If the flower dance was in fall, honestly I don't think it would occurred to me the first time I played to ensure I had 4 hearts with one of them by then. It's not like they give you advance notice about the flower dance or that you might have an opportunity to dance with someone at that event.

I didn't feel particularly bad the first time I played it. It made sense to me, you're the new guy and no one knows you that well. Now, having played 3 games I don't even bother asking anyone at the first one. I just watch the dance and try to place where I'll be dancing next year.

OTOH, forgetting to bring anything to my first Luau and letting the whole village down....that I felt bad about.

its kind of messed up though, this is supposed to be a calm casual farming game similar to harvest moon/rune factory and shouldnt cause anxiety or stress in others. Games are supposed to be about escaping reality, not reminding people about their real life issues

maybe it looks like a casual game, but it has many serious subjects : alcoholism, depression, horrible parents, war and veterans with PTSD.

I think Haley has the best character development as you romance her. She changes her perspective the more hearts you have with her.
