Tips for Fishing?!

So, no idea if this was place down or not. Anyway, I got issues on fishing in the game. I don't know if this issue is due to my arthirsis in my hands making it hard to fish or if I am bad at it. So, anyone got an idea for me on what to do?

For you i would install a mod called instant fishing. As the minigame can be hard. i believe you can get it at Nexus mods? But i am pretty sure another person can explain it better

In your case keep an open Mind for This mod because your medical condition. But you can always try with the tips given below.

If you want to try it legit then just fish at the mountain lake by the mine entrance. The fish there are super easy to catch, they don't move much (sometimes they do but you can just ignore those). Once you get to fishing level 5 choose the perk to make your crab pots cheaper then you never have to fish again, you can just keep laying down cheap crab pots which still yield fishing xp and fish. Plus once you hit fishing level 10 you can make it so those crab pots never need to be baited anymore, or so they don't fish up trash any more.

An easier way of levelling up is to use crabbing pots (you can craft them with iron and copper bars, buy them for 1500g each at Willy's shop or complete the crab pot bundle in the community centre to get some) and place them in the river south of your farm. All you have to do is bait them and each day you will get something.

If you want to catch proper fish too, you can save up 7500g for the iridium fishing rod in Willy's shop and attach a trap bobber to it. The trap bobber makes the escape bar on the side decrease slower so you can catch difficult fish really easy if you keep your fishing bar over the centre.

You need to learn how to tap the mouse button at a pace that will cause the fishing bar to remain in the same place. Once you have that "skill" down pat, then it becomes a bit easier to "follow" the fish as it moves up or down.

Some fish have very quick transitions between going up and going down on the meter and those will always be tough to catch. The rare bites you get where the fish goes up and down like crazy, I believe those are the "legendary" fish but it's pretty much just blind luck if you can catch one of those, you have to get lucky with guessing which way the fish might go on the meter, and try to stay one step ahead of it. I've never caught one of those fish and my fishing skill is maxxed out at 10. But that's why they're called "legendary" fish, you're not supposed to catch them all the time, you're really only supposed to get lucky once (so you earn those fishing achievements).

When you first get a bite, as evidenced by the sound and the !, don't do anything, don't click at all. Wait for the mini fishing game window to come up. Then watch the fish. Until the fish moves, dont' do anything. Once the fish starts moving, watch it patiently and only click when you think it's going to move above the bar. You can catch really easy fish without clicking even one time. When you do have to click, just click quickly and patiently. You'll start to see a pattern.

Upgrade to better rods when you can and use bait. Start fishing is different places, you will catch different fish. Also, look for bubbles in the water, those are hotspots where you will catch fish one after the other almost instantly getting bites. Also, practice casting and try to hit max casting distance.

My first few in-game days of fishing were very frustrating. Once you get the hang of it, it becomes much easier. You can buy Trout Soup from Willy that will increase your fishing skill +1 for a few hours after you eat it. Increased skill makes it a little easier.
