ARCHEOLOGY quest not working?

so i found some kind of ancient artifact , "ancient seed" or something like that, i picked it up, but it wasnt in my inventory i guess. is that normal?
also then i noticed i cant seem to complete the quest, i go to gunthers museum but nothing happens even if i talk with him or donate some other materials.

is it a bug, or am i supposed to farm it again?
what am i supposed to do?

No. Artifacts go into your inventory like anything else. From just what you've said in the op, it could be a bug. It could be something like the first fishing chest I got, I hit okay thinking it would auto add things to my inventory when it doesn't. You could have gotten the blue plantable ancient fruit seed bag which is a different item.

Bug or no, artifacts can be found multiple times so you'll have to find another. The easiest path is to wait for a high luck day and go to the mines. The bug enemies in the first section have a chance to drop the artifact.

Artifacts can drop multiple times, there's no limit to any of them. I once had 17 ancient seed artifacts stacked at one time.

THX that helps, so i guess it just doesnt work right now, until i find another artifact again.

The Ancient Seed is strangely small, I recommend really looking at your inventory. It's a small brown bead and it rests a bit closer to the bottom of the individual inventory box.

Well at least we get an okay-ish size dot with Ancient Seed, Tropiclip is probably the worst in terms of visibility in this regard, as it's virtually un-see-able in the inventory.

omg, found 2 different artifacts, and still the quest doesnt work , it doesnt trigger when i meet gunther in his museum...

what am i supposed to do now?

Matti, if you upload your savefile somewhere. Like tinyupload, dropbox, or google/MS drive. I can try, and take a closer look for you.

already thought of that, i guess thats the only 1 option of 2 i could do, the other option was just cancelling the quest, so i did that >_> maybe its not that important if i can cancel it anyways.

It shouldn't cause any issues; especially if you can already donate other items. The game probably just bugged out, and didn't update your savefile appropriately.
