when standing next to any source of water (the pond on the farm, rivers, lakes) click on the water source while holding the watering can. I can't remember whether it's left or right click, so try both. The can's water level will then fill.

Yes, once a day is all that is required

Once a day, every day. Otherwise, your crops will die. :)

Also, when it rains, you won't need to water your crops for the day, so you can use your stamina bar and free time to do something else instead.

Also make some scarecrows when you have the resource, sometimes you might wake up finding a couple of your crops missing, that's because crows ate it (you can also catch them red-handed during the act as well). Each of them cover for some significant distance (roughly around 8 blocks radius I think) so you won't need too many of them.

how do we use bait?

You require the fiberglass fishing rod, then you can take the bait and equip it to the rod.

Every fishing rod that is a tier higher than the Bamboo rod allows you to put bait on it.
