The save function of the game is grabage
So, i'm in summer, there is a storm, and im trying to get Shane's 6 heart event to start.
The strom lasted like, four days, and I couldn't get it to triger at all.
On the last day, when the weather guy said the next day was going to be sunny,
I desided to just stand at the enrtence to the woods and enter/leave every ingame hour.
Well, I ended up falling asleep in real life, and woke up to my guy passed out,
and when I clicked, it saved and moved onto the next day...
That is just stupid.
I didn't want it to save after passingout in game.
I wanted to just quit the game.

EDIT - this was halfly done as a joke, (though, the option to not save would be nice)
becouse I passed-out IRL which caused my character to pass-out.

The game keeps a backup save, so you can revert to the previous day.
save location:
C:\Users\*username*\AppData\Roaming\StardewValley

You blame the game for your own mistake. . well done sherlok

And because no one's explicitly mentioned it, you haven't lost a thing, OP. Just do the event the next time; it'll be available forever until you finally access it.

they can both be true.

i would prefer a, "save anytime" system, as I'm a save-scummer.

But I have also found it part of the charm of the game.

ps- please, try to be nice and less hostile (by avoiding name-calling). it helps to be overly nice/patient on the internet as everything is read in such a negative tone. my advice :)

the save feature is pretty bad anyway, but it's not really game-breaking

I like an option save and quit. Next to the normal quit game.

I find the current save system good but maybe just maybe give a 1 day back option. For when you realise monday you missed a cooking show or so.

But for the op matter. Sorry that such a thing happend but its just one day. Is it really that bad? Yes the cutscene did not play but there will be more days for that.

Or you can...you know, don't play games if you are tired as hell.

Ah, save scummers. Truly they are scum themselves at this kind of laid-back game. Learn some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ patience.

It's really your fault for falling asleep in the middle of a game; Next time make sure to get some sleep before starting your game up.
A 'save at any time' function wouldn't really work too well, as you'd have to go to sleep before 2 AM, so you're forced to either way.

Not really the games fault....

keep in mind, this could be a handicap/health issue. if someone is narcoleptic, they could fall asleep when playing and could get screwed for something beyond their control. (I have one customer who is, and it is hilarious when he nods off mid-conversation. I cant lie.)

even if its, "their fault" it still helps to have some compassion.

They shouldn't be playing a game in the first place if they're aware of the fact that they can fall asleep in the middle of it.
