Waited 12 days for a plant to grow to harvest stage
It was going to be one of those plants that re-grows something every day once it's ready, so we're looking at pure profit for the rest of the season.

But since I was clearing rocks the night before, and went to harvest with the wrong button, I whacked that plant instead of harvesting it.

So sad!

It's actually made worse because you can harvest with either the right or left-mouse button, so I've never actually figured on which one to use. I just keep using any mouse button that will do anything.

For example, I still can't quite remember which button opens chests, or activates something -- because these two buttons are used for so much different interactions in the game that if I hit the wrong one, I just hit the other one. And it's mostly fine except in the case of having a tool that destroys crops.

I do that every once in awhile because I mainly harvest with the left mouse button. I almost always exit and start the day over. I tend to harvest first thing in the morning so there's usually not that much to redo.

A good rule of thumb: hover over your scythe, as it can't destroy anything and has no right-click like a sword does.

Oh you're right! I totally forgot about killing the game to reload. That's something good to do since I usually harvest in the mornings and not much activity or time would have been lost.

I also learned the tip about using the sword or scythe around farm plants but this particular time, I had been using the pickaxe the night before.

Thanks both!
