Social anxiety/optimism

when looking through your save files you can find the variables "social anxiety" and "optimism" regarding your child. does anyone know what these variables mean? is it a hint toward a future plan with kids or is it something already in the game?

Social anxiety gives more money when you sell it into slavery, optimism is better if you send it to the mercury mines.

IIRC, there were plans to have a more elaborate social interaction system but it got scrubbed during development. Probably was too complex for the casual portion of the playerbase or just wasn't fun.
