Is the parrot faking?

So I married Emily and I got to see that great little cutscene where she rescues an injured bird. She tells me later that its wing is broken and it will never fly again. But every now and then I see it flying just above its perch. And when I enter the room, it lands again, as if to try not to let me see it flying.

So, what do you all think? Is the bird faking so it can stay?

I have been married to Emily for 2 months and have never seen the parrot get off its perch, so I think it's really injured. Plus, don't you think Emily would have noticed since she spends full days with the parrot and is also knowledgeable about animals?

Just my thoughts.
