I placed the chest directly on the farm from the cursor after crafting. The first one didn't quite place exactly where I wanted it. I didn't realize it was just an image of it, even though it still appeared on my character's head. When I clicked on the stones to add to it, the chest never opened, the rocks just disappeared. I thought they must be in there but I couldn't open the chest to see if they were. Deciding I would figure it out later (time is passing!), I went to refill the watering can. Of course, when I went back to it, the chest (with my stones?) was gone.
The second chest didn't even give an image when I tried to place it down. It just disappeared (my inventory was full). Yes, the game constantly told me my inventory was full while I was clearing and collecting more wood to make this second chest. Yes, I already knew this so I didn't connect the dots (inventory clue) that crafting an item also needed an inventory slot.
So day 4 was a great learning experience (third time is a charm) but I thought I'd let everyone know in case there are other noobs like me who are a little slow on the draw. I really wish there were a few more instructions on 'how' you do certain things (time passes so quickly), but I guess that's what makes this fun and challenging. It really is a busy game! I'm lovin' it!
Can the lighning have somethin to do with it?
Chest was near the river by Leah's house. I have some crab pots there and the chest I had there had some bait, trash and my old Bamboo's Pole that I don't use.
Overall, not a huge loss for me but definitely sucks and I'm worried about losing some of my more important chests.
milk pan
copper hoe
shears
The chests are all in my shed.. I did have a furnace vanish when a rock took its place outside, so those are in the house now. Don't know why the tools vanished though...
