It takes a while to reach level 7, assume you're selling what you forage as well?

Picking up does help, but think selling helps a lot too, but not sure

Chopping down a tree gives 12 foraging experience points (granted all at once for the last chop that causes the tree to fall), and removing Large Stumps and Large Logs gives 25 exp. Removing regular tree stumps gives no experience.

Forage crops grown on the farm from Wild Seeds give 3 foraging experience points each when harvested. Spring Onions that grow in Cindersap Forest south of Leah's Cottage also give 3 exp each when harvested.

Picking up Forage items around town gives 7 exp each. Picking up a Truffle on the farm gives 7 exp. right from the wiki so ya selling:RogueMoneybags: stuff doesnt give you xp

Have you fixed the bridge on the beach? It often washes up a bit more stuff after it rains there.

Also, did you upgrade axe enoguh to open the path to secret woods area? Often there's slimes, forage stuff around and 6 large stumps for hardwood every day.

During the seasons, did you try shaking the bushes for berries? Tons of salmonberry, blackberries and I forget if there's anything else form those bushes you could get.

It took me the longest to go from 9 to 10, but it paid off sicne I chose the perk to always get the highest quality item when picking things up. Always iridium stuff, yay!

You can chop down trees in the Cindersap (southern) forest area, the mountain lake, and the railroad. You can plant wild trees in the railroad area too, if you till the spot first.

Foraging just takes a really long time to level. If you think getting to level 7 is bad, try going from level 9 to 10. That takes forever.

Well, congrats! As mentioned above, going from 9 to 10 takes forever. Gather everything you see. I planted 2 rounds of trees in the railroad area for the wood, but that surely helped my foraging skill too.

Fishing is the easies tskill to lvl and it takes for ever to get from lvl 9 to 10 so i see your point

GG reaching your goal.

In general, I would recommend upgrading your axe ASAP, probably the first thing you do upgrade, to the point that you can remove large stumps. Then, make daily trips to the secret forest to harvest hardwood and also foraging XP. You'll need/want the hardwood anyway!

Honestly, if you've got the sprinklers to spare, grow some wild seeds.
