Iridium hoe and iridium watering can only affecting 3 tiles?

When I use the Iridium hoe or the iridium watering can, only the 3 tiles in front of me are affected, as if they were still copper tools.

The iridium axe does what it's supposed to, 3 hits and a tree is down. The pickaxe does it's job as well.

Any reason why the hoe and watering can are still only working for 3 tiles or how I can fix this?
It's taking forever to get anything done

You actually need to hold the button longer. The watering can as well as the hoe cycles through form the 1st upgrade, to the next, onwards until it reaches the max upgrade effect. It does this incase you only wanted to water or dig a small section/line or deal with a wider area.

So, yes, its upgraded, but works slightly differently int hat you need to HOLD LONGER to see the upgrades.
