sprinklers are useless?
made a tier1 sprinkler. watered an amazing 4 tiles. seems pointless to water vast fields since you have to give up a crop space to water 4 on auto.

Tier 1 sprinkles are garbage, Tier 2 and 3 are the only ones worth bothering with.

hey... tier 1 are not garbage... this are 4 tiles you do not have to water your self...

you can setup quiet neat grids only with tier 1... not effective... but the energy you save with this 4 tiles can be invested in something else...

tbh... they are not worth the materials... but the time saving speaks for it self.

i thought so. i read the description wrong. i thought it was a 4 block radius. you can imagnine my disapointment and 750g wasted buying the iron for it since i havent made it far enough in the mines to get it

I recommend against buying ores. Once you reach lower in the mines, the ore will be in plentiful supply.

The tier one sprinklers aren't very useful. I use them for flowers around beehives and to water some of the corners of the greenhouse. I wouldn't build a lot of them though. If the ingredients didn't include iron I could see lining them up to water trellis plants. Except for a few niche uses I think they are a waste of iron bars.

BIG crop tier 1 sprink suxz.

I don't think anyone posted specifics yet, but teir 2 sprinklers water the surrounding 8 tiles, which is the entire surrounding radius. The next tier, tier 3, waters the surrounding 24 tiles (This translates to roughly two rows of tile in a radius around the sprinkler)

ALSO if you haven't upgraded your tools, you might not know: upgraded tools have an alternative output. This makes it sooooo much easier to conserve both energy and water. For Example:The watering can is abe to water multiple tiles at once as you upgrade it; 3 for copper, 5 for iron, 6 for gold, and I'm not quite sure yet how many for iridium, but I believe it is 10 tiles.

So getting an iron watering can is actually more useful than crafting a tier 1 sprinkler.
Lastly, if you are getting frustrated about the effort it takes, don't forget you can cook and craft foods that will increase your energy.

How do you water multiple tiles at once?

Tier 1 is great early game. The sooner you automate your farm, the more you can do other things. Anyone that things otherwise probably took significantly longer than those that choose to invest in them asap. While some people were either broke or getting exhausted watering their farm, I was in the mines and getting paid for it.

With that said, you should only get so many of them. You will be able to upgrade to T2 very quickly, T3 isn't very far either.

You hold the use button to "charge" the watering can and hoe.

Default: No charge, just water/till the tile in front of you
Copper upgrade: Water/till a 1x3 line
Iron upgrade: Water/till a 1x5 line
Gold upgrade: Water/till a 3x3 area
Iridium upgrade: Water/till a 3x6 area

You don't save much (if any) stamina, but it does save time.

Early in-game go to the mines during rainy days and winter season. Mine for iron, gold, and pick up quartz - those are the materials to create quality sprinklers which provide water to 8 surrounding crops. Iron is abundant is levels 70 - 80 and gold is abundant in levels 80 to 119. Quartz appear at any level, but they are more present in the early levels of the mine.

Depends on your playstyle. I've done a few runs of the game.

One run, I didn't get to level 80 in the mines until late Summer, so those tier 1 sprinklers were a huge help with my hops and blueberries.

On other runs, I might make a few, then either toss them in the trash or use them for watering a line of hops later.

In some runs, you get to level 80 of the mines in Spring and never even consider the tier 1 sprinklers lol

Mm, I disagree with the "prevailing wisdom" that the t1 Sprinklers are useless.

First off, each one is 4 spots you don't have to water. In the first spring and summer, when your energy and skills are still low, that's still time and energy that you save.

Later on, I personally use them for the Trellis plants (Beans, Hops and Grapes).

Yes, the t2 sprinklers are better, but (depending on your available resources and needs) the t1's have their place.
