I use both as well, especially since I don't have the materials for new quality sprinklers at the moment
You may not feel the need, some do, hopefully I can get to the point of having the iridium sprinklers.
Until then, there's no reason not to.
Kinda a silly question.
We'll agree to disagree
I use a mix. It depends on what I am going for.
For example, most of my crops are watered by sprinklers in my current game but I have an area where I try to get giant crops that I water by hand because it allows for more uninterrupted placement of crops.
I'll also hand-water some crops (mostly flowers, but on occasion some colorful food-crops) that I've placed for purely decorative purposes. Usually then I don't want a sprinkler mucking up the area.
I think I probably migrate to using sprinklers later in the game than most people do, though. I've never used the basic ones and some playthroughs I don't use any at all until I can get iridium.
There's no reason to fill the pet's bowl.
Once I do, I only use it for flowers. I like having a 9x3 flowerbed, or sometimes just 3x1 to line a row. I don't want to have a sprinkler in there, so I hand-water them. Flowers used for beehives, however, use sprinklers.
