Can't get a fish to bite!

I have been trying for a while now and have looked up how to fish and I am still having trouble. I get fish to bite and a "!" appears over my characters head but when I click, the bite doens't stick. I have tried not pulling it up right away and waiting for the bob to sink but it never does. I just get "!" over my head and that's as far as it ever gets. Any tips???

Keep trying. Fishing is a pain the first few times. You gotta be fast on the click too.

The only thing I can think of is you may need to react more quickly. It's a somewhat narrow window. Try to click while the sound is still playing.

So are you saying I need to click when I see the "!" over my character's head? The bob doesn't need to go under water?

I don't think it ever goes under. Just do it when you get the message and click that very moment,

I got it guys! I actually play with the sound off so I tried with the sound on and I was able to click faster because I heard the ding and saw it and I finally got into the mini, which sucks also but it is what it is lol Thanks for the responses though!!:)

also important is that at fishing events there wont be a "!" over your head. you need to look at the hook.
