Now that I'm more experienced, I toss the cheap stuff into preserve jars and the more expensive stuff into kegs.
Blueberry jelly sells for 150g, and takes about 3 days to make. So 50g per day. (Or 33, if you don't count the price of selling a blueberry.)
Wine is 3x the price, and takes 7 days... A blueberry goes for 50g. 50x3 = 150.
A preserve jar, in this case, does the same thing but faster.
The general answer is "it depends." Low value crops (50g or less) are better off being placed in the preserves jar, while high value crops do better in the kegs. You're better off trying to diversify if you can, then worry about min/maxing at the end of the game. At the end of the game, you'll be primarily kegs because you'll be focusing on Ancient Fruit, Rare Seeds, and Starfruit. Which do better in kegs. Check the wiki, it will tell you which crops do better in the kegs:
