Iridium Quality Truffles
Hello Fellow Stardewians.
I'm on year 9, my pigs are 2 years old and unconditionally loved. However, I have yet to get an Iridium Quality truffle. I understand that it is optimal to for have particular foraging quirks... However, I'm a Forester Lumber Jack. Is it possible for me to even get top quality truffles?

I went Gatherer / Botanist and literally every single truffle I pick up is iridium.

That's the only variable I can see between our two games. Have way less playtime too, just started year 4. Pigs are probably 2 years old like yours also.

Perhaps someone else has some more insight on this.

I hope so. I'm thinking that it may only be possible if you have the right quirks. Thank you!

Not according to the wiki: http://stardewvalleywiki.com/Foraging
However, only players who have chosen the 'Botanist' specialization can find iridium quality foraged goods.

Out of curiosity, why in the world did you pick that skill tree? Roleplaying? Challenge?

If the level 5 perk was "gives 50% more wood from trees", I could understand. But I don't see why anyone would pick "sell the resource you use the most of for 1g more" over double food/gifts.

And then the level 10 perks aren't very good either. :|

Not only that but those days with salmonberries and such are amazing as a food source when everything is iridium.

Mostly because I was honestly just excited to play the game, I really didn't think about it that much :P Yeah I regret it now. But not much I can do *shrug* Probably because at the time I had an abundance of resources?

I took the gatherer one to see if it gave me any new info, but its a terrible addition to the GUI so I ripped it out and replaced it with botantist.

Botantist gets you alot of winter money. winter seeds being the only stuff that grows. 3 harvests. 1.2-1.4 ish million.
I didn't realize that I could plan trees anywhere outside my farm. Goodness, If I could reset my skills... >.<
