I think it's the Gold Clock:

Gold clock, yeah. But fences now last a lot longer, anyways. I think stone fences are like 2 seasons and hardwood are 2 years?

Hardwood lasts 2 years, yeah. And given that the gold clock costs 10,000,000, and the hardwood fence can be bought for 1000 in the casino... you can buy 10,000 hardwood fences for the cost of the gold clock. It's certainly convenient, but not cost-efficient.

Ah, that was it,yeah quite expensive lol. I prefer the stone fences tho.

If you're married, you spouse will occasionally mend the fences for you. Generally speaking, it seems to happen often enough that fuctionally, they won't decay.

Plus that clock is flipping beautiful, let's not forget that.

according to the wiki, hardwood is like 558 to 562 days
a year is 4x28 days.

how are you getting 2 years out of clearly 5 years is beyond me?

people repeat 2 years for hardwood fences all the time though.

Checking, looks like wood fences last 2 months, stone fences last a year, iron fences last 2 years, and ironwood lasts 5 years.

roughly. I got the clock in year 3 though. and married in year 1.

Clock also prevents debris from spawning on the field. which shaves a day off me getting my ancient fruit started in spring. adding enough time to get in some delux speed gro.

which is worth an extra harvest a year.

so 2500x2310 = 5 mill. the clock pays for itself it 2 years.
Forgot they changed it, they used to last 2 years.

Offtopic question - why do you even need fences? To not close animal door and still find animals in one place? Anything else?

The only purpose I use them for is for truffle farming with pigs. If you don't fence in pigs, they can pretty much uncover truffles anywhere on the farm. Which really makes it a nightmare to locate them at the end of the day. By building a closed fence, it limits the area to a much more manageable area.

Otherwise, I haven't really found another functional purpose for fences other than aesthetics and/or roleplay.

Thanks. When I'll start buying pigs, I'll probably do some fencing.
